The Super Intelligence Domain Registration Wave
In four days President Trump moved to rename AI, from a Truth Social poll on 19 September to "Super Intelligence" at the UN on 22 September, setting off a wave of newly registered domains: we recorded 2,596 possibly related names, containing the new terms or ending in .si.
The registrations keywords during the renaming
In four days Trump made three moves on the name. On 19 September he put three replacements for artificial intelligence to a vote on Truth Social and X (The Hill); on the 20th he dropped one option and posted a runoff, which Superior won; on the 21st he posted a new poll with Super added, which beat Superior (Gizmodo); and on the 22nd he told the UN General Assembly that United States documents would use Super Intelligence (White House release). None of this changed how AI is named anywhere else: no agency guidance followed (Breaking Defense), and neither the government nor the industry adopted the term. What it changed was the registration record.
Each step shows up in the registrations of the same day:

The response was fastest on the two poll days and followed the vote: the winning option drew several times more names than the two that lost, and the option that was dropped went quiet the next day. A large part of the volume is the same string bought across as many extensions as possible, often in batches registered within the same second and parked on sale platforms, which is how names are taken when they are meant to be resold rather than used.
The rise in newly registered .si domains
.si is Slovenia's country-code extension, and its two letters match the SI abbreviation. From 8 to 18 September, we recorded an average of 67.5 newly registered .si names a day. The count was 74 on 19 September, then rose to 478 on 20 September and fell to 212 on 21 September.
On 22 September, the day of the speech, we recorded 636. Another 204 had been recorded by 08:45 UTC on 23 September, bringing the total for 20 to 23 September to 1,530.
The wave has a clear shape. It began the day after the poll and peaked on the day of the speech. The names are short English words, abbreviations and brand strings such as href.si, hugh.si, libs.si and amzn.si, the kind taken first when an extension is expected to gain value, and most of them do not mention the term at all: they take the extension itself. They came through registrars serving international customers rather than through Slovenian hosts, and a larger share than before sits on sale platforms. It looks like a market forming around .si, the way one formed around .ai.
Nameservers at the time of recording
As in our Jev article, these classifications describe the configuration when a name was recorded. Afternic, Atom, Sedo, Dan and similar nameservers usually indicate a sales or parking page. Cloudflare, Vercel, AWS and similar providers handle hosting or DNS, but their nameservers alone do not establish that a site is live. Configurations can change after recording.

Among the four keyword groups, superiorintelligence had the largest share on sale-platform nameservers, at 35.8%. Most of those names were the exact string registered across extensions. Superintelligence had the largest share on hosting or DNS providers, at 7.3%, and the smallest sale-platform share.
The share of these names sitting on sale platforms is high for a keyword, well above what the ABTdomain study of .com registrations found for names built on ai and agent. Much of this wave is domain investors taking positions on the term and on the .si extension, not projects being built.
Summary
- The Trump renaming campaign drove a wave of super intelligence new registrations, in the keyword and in the .si extension.
- Domain investors were the main force in this wave, expecting SI to become mainstream the way AI did. For that to happen, many more people will need to take part.
